Mate, dodgeball, datchball, dodgeball, dodgeball, dodgeball, matomato… and a thousand other names, is a popular game that has been passed down from generation to generation with different variants.
This game, played mainly as a physical education exercise, consists of dividing the playing field into two, one on each side for each team. In both teams, there will be a person in charge of throwing the ball to the other side of the field, trying to ‘eliminate’ their opponents.
The ‘dead’ or ‘eliminated’ will be located outside the field, in the area that delimits their opponents’ court, with the aim of achieving a perfect tug-of-war between their remaining team, the “live” ones, and eliminating their opponents.
Each team will have their turn, as long as they get the ball at the right time.
This popular game becomes a very interesting dynamic to reinforce the bonds with your team, as in addition to looking out for yourself, you will have to take into account the rest of the team to win the game.
Your objective? Eliminate all the opposing players. The obstacles? The eliminated players, called ‘dead’, can be revived if they get hold of the ball and manage to hit the opposing team in any part of the body. Revenge is served on a cold plate!
